Sebile Lures have arrived at Saiko Tackle

We have had heaps of news of late, but the one we have been most excited to bring you is the introduction of Sebile Lures to Saiko Tackle. We did a recent news post on all of the acclaim that has surrounded Sebile in the past 5 years including 4 awards at AFTA.

We have had a good chance to test the range we are stocking and to say we are impressed is a massive understatement. Each lure swims extremely well and is even easier to use effectively to brands of a similar price point. The thing that impressed us most is the colour range. The colours are truly unique, you won't find anything like them in Australia at present.

The Blood Red and Fluid Injected series are simply stunning, as well as functional allowing anglers to cast the Sebile lures at great distances with ease. Anyhow you can see the whole range in store @ Saiko Tackle - Sebile

Here are some pictures of the colours and styles we have in stock. A short video is coming in a few days so you can see some of the lures in the tank test.

Coming this week - Sebile Lures

If you have been following the fishing industry awards circuit over the last few years then you would have definitely heard of Sebile Lures. Sebile is the proud recipeient of several ICAST and EFTTEX awards for their lures since 2006. Their most important win in our eyes came in 2010 when they picked up an unprecedented 4 awards at Australia's own interntaional tackle expo AFTA. The awards they won were as follows:
  • Best Hard Lure for its Koolie Minnow BRL Big Round Lip
  • Best Soft Lure for its Magic Swimmer Soft
  • Best Terminal Tackle for the SÉBILE Soft Weight System
  • Best Medium Stand for its booth with casting length lure demonstration tank

Still a new player in the tackle business in Australia, Sebile have gathered a strong following because of their unique designs and beautifully crafted creations. You know when you buy Sebile that you are buying quality products at excellent prices.

We are extremely excited to be stocking the Sebile brand at Saiko Tackle, and we should have all the stock loaded into the store in the coming week, so stay tuned. For now though here is a little sneak peak at some of the styles that are arriving in, and some videos from Sebile USA.

Every style comes in a range of different colours, many of which include the popular oil injected series from Sebile. Aside from the colour range many styles will also come in different sizes as we move towards carrying more stock suited towards chasing barramundi in the QLD impoundments.

Sometimes just seeing a picture isn't enough so Sebile have put together some excellent demonstation videos for almost all of their products. Here is a taste:

We can't wait till these arrive so stay tuned for when you can finally purchase them online from Saiko Tackle.

Coming Soon - Yep Tassie Tackle soft plastics.

We promised lots of announcements this month and one we have been itching to let you know about is the introduction of a new brand to Saiko Tackle. As of this month Yep Tassie Tackle soft plastics will be arriving on our shelves. We have had a sneak peak of whats on offer from this small company out of Tasmania and so far we are impressed with the quality and most importantly the uniqueness of each creation.

The first thing you will notice about them is the neat packaging. The Yep's come in small packages meaning they don't clutter up your tackle box or bag. Many varieties are also scented and some come with a loose amount of glitter so that they leave a glitter trail behind the soft plastic. This is an excellent representation of scales coming off a wounded bait fish. At 2 inches and 3 inches respectively they are an ideal soft plastic for estuary fishing in Australia when your targeting Bream, Whiting, Flathead and other estuary species.

So here are a few pictures to wet your appetite, these are just going to have to tie you over till our stock arrives in. You will be able to see them very soon @ www.saiko.com.au

Coming Soon - Damiki GPS Spinnerbaits and Pontoon 21 Suspendots

As part of a whole range of new products coming to Saiko Tackle in January 2011 is the brand new Spinnerbaits range from Damiki and Suspendots from Pontoon 21. We are extremely excited to be stocking both of these new products and we will be one of only a handful of online stores stocking both.

We had been looking for a spinnerbaits range for the new year for quite some time. When Rob from Damiki told us about the Damiki GPS Spinnerbaits we knew these were the ones we were looking for. Damiki has an excellent reputation on both the tournament and recreational scene for making quality products that catch fish, and the GPS spinnerbaits carry on this tradition.

They come in 6 great colours and were hand picked and tested by ABT tournament anglers Greg Flett and Wayne Reed. Here is a look at the colour range, and you can see them @ Saiko Tackle in the coming week.

In addition to the GPS Spinnerbaits arriving next week we also have the highly anticipated Suspendots from Pontoon 21 hitting our shelves. For those not familiar with the Suspendots they are a stick on lead weight that will allow you to finely tune lures to either make them suspend or sink at different rates. What this means is that you can now get many more uses out of a single lure across both saltwater and freshwater applications.

The Suspendots come in 3 sizes that overlap to cover many different weights and styles of lures. Here is an image of the Suspendots and a short video from Rob at Searing Tackle demonstrating their application. You will be able to find them @ Saiko Tackle as early as next week.

Saiko Tackle will also add some new Damiki Terminal Tackle in the form of Damiki Snaps and Viper  Hooks. Look out for these in store from next week onwards.

New Nories colours and Ecogear PX55 Stock

Over the next 2 months we have plenty of new products and brands coming to Saiko Tackle, and we will be keeping you updated on when you will be able to find them in store. The first of these announcements is the expansion of our Nories products. Today we have added 2 new colours to our Laydown Minnow Range, and 3 new colours to the Zag Stick Pencil range.

These two lures are at the pinnacle of lure design and technology. The Laydown Minnow uses a very subtle action and roll to entice wary fish, while the Zag Stick Pencil used with a sharp walk the dog action skips across the surface mimicking a fleeing bait fish like no other lure before it.

We have used these lures extensively and they are one of our favourite lures because quite simply if there are fish to be caught then these almost always do the job.

You can see the new colours in each by following this link:

In addition to this we have also recieved stock updates of the extremely popular PX55 from Ecogear. We now have the full range of colours back in stock, but be quick because these will sell fast. You can see the PX55 full range by following the link:

First few bass of 2011

With the weather finally looking good in Brisbane, we decided it was time to head out and chase some skinny water Bass and explore some areas that we thought might hold some fish after the recent rain. After a quick chat about a game plan, my brother and I headed off just after lunch to hopefully land him his first Bass on a lure.

When we reached the water i was overwhelmed by the amount of flow that had hit my favourite little Bass backwater. Small Pools and trickling streams had become a raging torrent. At this stage i knew we were going to have to work to find some still water to fish with our ultralight setups. Luckily for us some deep still water wasn't to far away, and after about 2o minutes of navigating the overgrowth we had hit the first pool.

And after five minutes Success! First Bass for the day, and my brothers first on a lure. Needles to say he was over the moon.

It went a little quiet after that and we decided to pack up and move to another location. After arriving at our new spot, we caught our first glimpse of a red bellied black snake, usually a very common occurrence around this way. I was pretty happy with this as i had promised my brother we would see one. I am still not sure if that's a good thing to promise.

It took us a while to get onto some fish in this new spot, but it was worth the perseverance. We ended up landing about 12 Bass in total all between about 10 and 25cm. Nothing to write home about but still fun on the ultralight gear, and in the skinny water.

In the end we had a top day out chasing some very cautious creek Bass, and the best part is i got to share the beautiful clear water, wild animals and a few beautiful Bass with my brother, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
